Hi, Your Fave Wine Newsletter Is Back!
I have awoken from my summer slumber with wine in tow.
Summer is still in full swing. I didn’t do any of the romantic summer plans I had like camping by a lake, laying the park drinking wine, and BBQing. But I did pour a lot of wine. A LOT of it. There was no shortage of Mas Vino events this summer (hopefully you made it out to one!) so the newsletter took a bit of a backseat. In case you were curious, I vlogged about it instead:
Mas Vino Please Newsletter is back though. I missed writing! So let’s catch up. The regular newsletter format will return next week, but today I’ll leave you with a list of what I’ve been drinking this summer.
Aside from my own wines, (Sol y Mar sold out in 6 weeks btw!) I sipped and poured wines that reminded me of the summer I wished I was having: Breezy, & beachy, high altitude and crisp, and super chilled with a side of BBQ.
Dinner Party Wine
I went to dinner a couple weeks ago at my friend Chloe’s and we had a few bottles:

Surprisingly we opened all white wines (especially since I love to socialize over a chilled red). Notable mentions: Riesling by Jean Baptiste Adam from Alsace which was zippy and creamy at the same time. Next: a floral, rainwater Muscadet beauty by Domaine de la Pepiere. Finally: everyone’s favorite stainless steel Chardonnay by Scribe Winery.
White/Orange Wines
There were many fabulous white and orange wines this season, but these babies stood out to me.

First: This Peruvian orange wine (by Fundo El Quintanar) was so savory and woodsy!! Second: Woman-owned/produced orange wine from Georgia’s Oda Family Winery was like peach iced tea. Third: Le Trouble Fait was everything I love about Muscat: passionfruit and honey suckle.
(Chilled) Reds
All time favorite wine moment is a chilled red at dusk, on a hot summer day with people that I love. Everything about it is summer for me. Here were a few of those moments:

First: A Toi Nous by Andrea Calek — I accidentally froze this bottle over night, luckily it was still a silky and delicious Syrah when it thawed. Talk about a chilled red lollllz. Second: Les Athletes du Vin Gamay always hits. I return to her again and again. Its everything you want from a gamay, but still has some sneaky complexity that makes it stand out from all the other gamay girlies. Third: Disko Wines Carbonic Red is so juicy and fun, you’ll literally think its juice. Party girl wine for sure.
Next week:
Newsletter will be back in full swing, in its original format. Can’t wait to chat wines for you soon. Thanks for sticking with me during my little summer break. I love you and appreciate you! Comment your fave summer wines so I can try them too! xo - Mas Vino Please.
