Good morning! Sorry about my absence since the merch drop a couple weeks ago! (Shirts have been mailed out and you should have received them by now. Tag me in your pics, yay!) In this letter I’ll be sharing a couple of MVP updates. Also, in the middle of writing this newsletter I dropped my computer >.< and the screen is now broken, ugh! So podcast will probably be on hold until I get this thing fixed…
Since the merch drop I partnered with my partner, Taste Buds to host the ultimate summer kickback last weekend, called Bunz & Vino. The event was inspired by my youth and summers in Colombia, so we turned up the OG reggaeton classics and grilled up some Colombian Hot Dogs, and of course, poured a lot of wine!
This event was an opportunity to not only meet many Mas Vino community members in person (finally!) but also to curate a wine list for y’all to fit the mood. When building my list, I wanted the wines to be: approachable, chillable, and unique.
It was HOT in LA that weekend so light, refreshing, and chillable wines were a must! I also know that many who were planning on coming were new to wine and on their own wine journey’s so I wanted the wines to be approachable for those who are new, but also fun and adventurous and to show off the diversity of wine styles, grapes and producers. So here’s what we poured
:
Bob Singlar by Domaine de la Mongestine: the wine that helped inspire the whole damn party a couple months ago! Extremely crushable and fruity chilled red. Roussane, Pinot Noir, Merlot. France!
Dang! A collab by Ardure and PetNat Posse!! Splash some summer in your cup with this orange delight! Bright melon and lots of fizz. Muscat from California.
First Crush by VDC. Kate has made a kissable, crushable red blend thats juicy and perfect for a hot summers day on the roof. Zin, Grenache Sauv Blanc and Riesling from CA.
Bianco by Fiky Fiky! Crisp, clean, fresh and slightly salty with a dust of sea salt. 100% Albariño from California.
Building lists is like making a playlist for me! I love tapping into the energy, mood, and needs of a crowd and planning a tasty menu for them. If you ever need someone to curate a list for your event, let me know ;)
Now for the (vague) updates: there are some pretty major things in the works for MVP this season. I’m REALLY excited to share with you and I promise newsletter subscribers will be the very first to know. That being said, I hope you’re prepared for some more events in September and October AND you’re ready for me to pour you some Mas Vino! okay thats all, stay tuned!
