One last email before the new year! I tried to take 2 weeks offline this year, but I alas, I could not! I usually end the year with Trend Predictions for the coming year, but this time I’ll leave you with a list of my favorites from 2023.

Petit Métris Coteaux du Layon Chaume 1er Cru 2015
Cati Ribot Vi Bosquet (engagement wine!)
Como la flor 2021 — totally unbiased opinion!!! But if you still have a bottle from the first CLF drop (2021 vintage) I recommend opening it up and seeing how beautifully it’s aged.
Favorite Wine Bar Experience
Cav. in Palma de Mallorca. Out first day in Mallorca, we stumbled into Cav. for a glass of wine and ended up on a whirlwind adventure straight out of Chef’s Night Off. Eventually, I’ll get around to sharing a video that sums up the whole experience… eventually! lol.
Favorite Food & Wine Experience
Lechon-Lechona Lunch with Ola Club & Lasita at Weisier Farms in Malibu. I had the absolute pleasure of curating wine with the Lasita team and helping bring this celebration of Colombian and Filipino culture to life! It was an absolutely perfect and beautiful day in Malibu that will live in my memory forever!
Honorable mention: Mercat Negre in Mallorca — an omakase style fish bar that serves you plate after plate until you’re full and keeps your wine glass forever full.

I had many favorite wine things of 2023, this is just a small sliver of the wonderful wines I have sipped and experienced this year. Next year, I hope I can continue sharing these thoughts and experiences through Mas Vino Please and (even better) in person!
