Occasionally a red will exhibit "minerality" - Pinots, Nebbiolos, and Syrahs are the usual suspects for me - it's not that common, but all the more fascinating when you experience it!
agreed! I've had some beautiful and surpringly minerally reds on occasion! One that comes to mind is the Lorenza Cinsault. It was like rainwater and cranberry to me. I can't put my finger on it but it was wonderful.
I like the format, keep it! Also, after 50+ years of practice, I think I get minerality, mostly in unoaked white wines though.
