Thanks so much for sharing this. I grew up in the Kinneloa Mesa area of Pasadena; my dad’s neighborhood was fortunately one of the few surviving neighborhoods after the fire. He is sadly selling my childhood home (but will excitingly be moving closer to me on the Central Coast!), so it’s nice to hear about the history of the place that raised me. My dad planted a little vineyard in his backyard several years ago, and we made very small batches of wine from it for our own enjoyment. It’s cool to know that we weren’t the only people to think that the foothills of Pasadena were a good place to grow grapes.
